The Selena M.A.C. Collection Restock Is Coming Soon (Update)

UPDATE (December 19, 2016 11:00 a.m.): Christmas has come early this year, fellow Selena fans. We no longer have to wait until January to get our hands on the Selena M.A.C. Collection once again. The beauty giant just announced it will officially be restocking the entire collection including the online-exclusive Bidi Bidi Bom Bom lip gloss, at the end of this month. (However, there is one product that won't make its way back: the Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black.) The line will be available starting December 28 at midnight EST at maccosmetics.com. Each customer is limited to two products, so everyone will have a fair chance to grab something before it's all gone.

The next day, December 29, the collection will also be available in select M.A.C. stores, with a three product minimum. If you're not near a M.A.C. retail shop, you can pick up the line at Belk, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s, Hudson’s Bay Company, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as each store's e-commerce site.

This past weekend I celebrated my twenty-fourth birthday, which was the perfect occasion to wear my Selena M.A.C. goodies. While the collection literally sold out in minutes in October, I was able to snag a few items, which I keep proudly on display by my desk. The entire line is filled with products inspired by the '90s star, but my absolute favorite is the “Dreaming of You” lipstick. It is a gorgeous deep wine red which perfectly complements my skin tone, and it was just the finishing touch I needed to complete my birthday look. But, after applying the lipstick a sense of guilt came over me, this was my only tube of this iconic lipstick. How would I get my hands on another?

I quickly went to M.A.C.’s Instagram page to find any trail of the line, and then ah-ha! I came across the most glorious post. Thanks to the enthusiasm from Selena Quintanilla fans, a Selena M.A.C Collection restock is indeed happening. How could I have missed this? That’s right ladies, if you missed your chance the first time to snag this must-have line, you will soon be able to get your redemption.

The limited-edition collection will be available for purchase again in early January online and via M.A.C. stores. Now I know it's been a little while since the big launch, so here's a bit of a refresher of what the line includes. The collection is made up of three lipsticks named after classic Selena hits: Dreaming of You, mentioned earlier; Como La Flor, a cherry red with a cream finish; and Amor Prohibido, a pink-y brown with a sheer finish. There are also five eyeshadows (No Me Queda Mas, a matte neutral brown, Is It The Beat, a deep matte black, Fotos Y Recuerdos, a satin bright pink, My Baby, a matte pink beige, and Selena, a deep violet with a pearl finish); a blush-and-bronzer in Techno Cumbia (matte beige pink and golden brown), a liquid eyeliner in Boot Black; a mascara in Optimum Black, and the online-exclusive lipgloss in Bidi Bidi Bom Bom (a bubblegum pink). Each product comes in a pretty purple packaging which Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla, told Latina was her favorite color.
