If you thought negative space nails or eyeliner was dope — and let's be real, who doesn't? — then you're in for a real treat with the brand-new negative space trend we're seeing all over our social feeds. This time around the graphic, low-key ~trippy makeup technique made its way to the world of brows, which can only mean people are going to go wild over it.
As Popsugar pointed out, the makeup mastermind behind the new negative space obsession is a France-based MUA who goes by Kapasovia on Instagram. A quick perusal through her feed and you'll instantly see she's all about experimenting with out-of-the-box looks — the negative space brow being one of many.
In her post, Kapasovia appears to have completely shaved brows, though it's worth noting she could have glued or taped them down. Inside subtle dark shadowing that mimics the outline of a brow, you can see she used a flesh-colored product at least one shade lighter than her skin tone to draw the shape of a brow. A few products she mentions using are Make Up For Ever's Full Cover Concealer in 05), M.A.C. Cosmetics Studio Chromagraphic Pencil in NW20, and Urban Decay's Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette.
Kapasovia also mentions in the caption that the idea came from @sadsalvia, who from the looks of his Instagram, is über-talented in special effects. (Like to a scary-impressive degree.)
While this might not be a lewk you wear on a daily basis, there's no doubt it's serving some seriously epic Halloween inspiration. Props to you if you give it a go.
