This Elf On the Shelf Makeup Look Is So Good — And Scary

There are a ton of ways to have fun with makeup, and sometimes folks create elaborate makeup looks they wouldn't necessarily wear out in public. Makeup is definitely an art form, and with enough imagination, you can use it to create practically anything you can dream of — even stuff that can create nightmares. That's exactly what U.K.-based Instagram user and makeup artist @Zoe-artistsharvest did as Popsugar has found with not one but two Elf on the Shelf-inspired looks that may seriously haunt your dreams.

For those who don't know, the Elf on the Shelf is a tiny elf that parents are supposed to place around the house during the holiday season to "keep an eye out" for mischievous behavior from the kiddos. In theory, it's supposed to get them to be good, but it honestly sounds a little scary to me, and Zoe's looks add fuel to that scary fire by depicting a live Elf on the Shelf tormenting her. In one of the looks, he's pulling her eyelids up, and in the other, he's prying open her jaw. Yikes!

These looks go beyond just makeup and utilize synthetic wax, body paint, and of course, the Elf himself as well. They certainly bring a new added dimension to the story of the Elf on the Shelf, don't they? I'll be eyeing that little guy even more closely than usual when I visit my parents' house this year for the holidays.
