Meghan Markle's Freckles Were Seemingly Photoshopped Out of Her Elle France Cover

Meghan Markle is a total stunner, and naturally so. Though she looks great with a blowout and she does have a ton of fantastic makeup tips, it's recently been revealed that her natural curly hair is also gorgeous, and she's said for a long time that her freckles are one of her favorite features. That's why it's such a shame that Elle France seemingly airbrushed her freckles completely off her face on its December cover.

The December cover shows Markle wearing a denim shirt and a gorgeous, full skirt, walking in a busy intersection with her hair pulled back. Her makeup is fairly minimal, but when you zoom in, you notice that her trademark freckles are gone. This is especially striking when contrasted with her Vanity Fair cover and photos, which put her gorgeous freckles on full display. During the Vanity Fair shoot, she worked with photographer Peter Lindburgh, and Revelist reports she was thrilled to work with him. In fact, she said of the shoot, “I gave [photographer Peter Lindbergh] a big hug and said, ‘I am so excited to work with you because I know we will finally be able to see my freckles!’"

Back in March, she told Allure that having her freckles airbrushed out of photos is quite annoying to her, saying, “To this day, my pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photo shoot." She added, "For all my freckle-faced friends out there, I will share with you something my dad told me when I was younger: ‘A face without freckles is a night without stars.’”
