Just like all things beauty-related, manicures and nail art can be extremely personal, and what one person loves may make another person cringe. We've seen some controversial nails in the past before, including Pennywise nail art, tampon nail art, and more. Now, the Internet is completely divided over some Valentine's Day nail art posted by Park Eunkyung on Instagram and reposted by makeup artist Johnson Scklimann.
The video shows the process of the entire manicure, and it's pretty detailed and involved. It's not your typical manicure, involving just polish and the wearer's own nails — rather, it requires the cutting and shaping of a set of acrylic nails into hearts to be glued onto the natural nails, which are then painted. That step is likely what many folks are taking issue with.
In the reposted video on Scklimann's account, the caption asks viewers to comment "Yay" or "Nay" on the look. While some people loved the look, commenting things like, "I was thinking for the wedding when I saw them tbf 🤷🏼♀️" and, "Yay! Do the hearts red," others weren't convinced, saying, "Pretty but way weird. Nay" and, "imagine trying to do shit with these things on." Some had suggestions, like, "You could put it the other way round that would work better," which might make the manicure a little less controversial and easier to wear.
