5 Burgundy Eye Shadows We're Loving Right Now (Possibly More Than the New Kyshadows)

When Kylie Jenner announced the latest addition to her Kylie Cosmetics line, my eyes went straight to the reddish shades in the new Kyshadow Burgundy Palette, which launched today. The next morning, I realized I loved those fall colors so much because I already own—and use—several burgundy eye shadows. (I was inspired to try out red eye makeup after seeing Olivia Wilde's look at the Oscars this year.)

Honestly, the burgundy eye shadows I've been trying for the past couple months may just be better than the ones in the new KyShadow palette because you don't have to deal with the hype and the whole palette. And besides, it's already sold out anyways. (They went nearly as quick as her Lip Kits do.) Here are my top five favorite burgundy eye shadows that just so happen to make for the perfect dupes for Kylie's Burgundy Palette:

Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Raw Power ($21) This shadow, which I'm currently wearing on my lids, has just the right amount of shimmer with zero fall out. Plus, it blends like a dream, so you can easily control its intensity.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Paradox ($5) For a deeper, richer burgundy, I opt for this creamy powder that has the slightest hint of glitter. It's intense color payoff is best achieved by using your fingertips.

Learn about the history of eye shadow:

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in M844 ($21) This matte shadow could be used your whole lid, and I swear you won't look like a stop light. I like to use it on the center of my lids with a shimmery burgundy on the outer corners for a red smoky eye look.

NYX Lid Lingerie in Evening Spell ($7) The doe-foot applicator of this eye tint makes it easy to use when you're in a rush. You can brush it on your upper lids and along your lower waterlines without having to break out a brush. Just blend the shadow in your fingertip, and you'll be ready to go.

Nars Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona ($29)
KyShadow has nothing on the foil finish of this shadow. When applied with a wet brush, the pigments become incredibly metallic.

And if you must have a palette complete with burgundy eye shadows, you're sure to find at least one here.
