Rihanna Teases New Fenty Beauty Eye Shadow, Metallic Lip Gloss

Before stepping on stage for her performance of hit song "Wild Thoughts" with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the Grammys on Sunday, Rihanna completely changed up her makeup. She went from sultry burgundy when accepting her award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar to a more Pantone Color of the Year vibe. Priscilla Ono, Rihanna's makeup artist and global makeup artist for Fenty Beauty, swept a violet eye shadow onto the singer's lids and swiped on a metallic bronze lip gloss. Now, the Internet is convinced both are sneak peeks at an upcoming Fenty Beauty launches. Honestly, I'm in the same boat. The Grammys are the perfect time to preview a product. Beyoncé even had a soon-to-be-released Glossier shadow on.

Ono posted pictures of the looks she created for Rihanna's Grammys festivities. For the post on her acceptance speech look, Ono detailed every single product she used. For Rihanna's performance look, which she kept on for the rest of the night, Ono didn't list a single product. She did, however, send a list over to beauty editors, and I can confirm that she didn't make any references to a lipstick or eye shadow. Suspicious, no?

Instead, all I can tell you is that Ono primed Rihanna's skin with the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer before blending in the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 300. Then, Ono contoured with the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha and added some color to the apples of Rihanna's cheeks with a combo of the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Chili Mango and Ridiiic. Then, Ono helped Rihanna blind everyone with her cheekbones with the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door and Hu$tla Baby.

Sure, Ono mentioned that she smudged the Match Stix Matte Skinsticks in Mocha and Espresso onto Rihanna's eyes, but what about the purple? What about the bronze lipstick? The people want to know. As someone wrote in the comments section of one of Ono's post put it: "Need deets on that purple eyeshadow sooner or later sis 👀💜🤔"

Fenty Beauty doesn't have any eye shadows in its permanent collection at the moment. It dropped a limited-edition palette for the holidays, which you can still shop here. Could single shadows be on the horizon? We might even get another palette for spring. My fingers are crossed they are released soon because I need that purple. I'm starting to think metallic lip paints might be in our futures, too. Maybe there will also be rose gold and silver shades — we'll all just have to wait and see.
