Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen Is "Invisible" on Every Skin Tone

When it comes to die-hard beauty rules, using sunscreen on a regular basis is non-negotiable. (Just ask any derm.) And yet, despite its importance in any healthy skin-care routine, finding an SPF-packed product that doesn't feel oily or leave behind a white cast can be a challenge, especially if you're on the oiler side and/or have darker skin. Thankfully, over the last couple of years, numerous brands have been actively listening to consumers' frustration and have tweaked some of their old formulas, as well as launched entirely new iterations.

Case in point: Supergoop's latest launch, dubbed the Unseen Sunscreen with SPF 40. The clear, primer-like sunscreen is an oil-free, completely invisible, scentless, and lightweight formulation that dries down clear on skin, making it suitable for all skin types and complexions.

Similar to Supregoop's other SPF-infused products, such as the Best of Beauty-winning Forever Young Hand Cream, Unseen Sunscreen is chock full of good-for-your-skin benefits beyond the all-important sun protection. Composed of red algae and hydrating meadowfoam seed oil, Unseen protects against UVA and UVB rays, as well infrared and blue light emitted by electronic devices, like smartphones and laptops.

After hearing about its impressive ingredients, we decided to put Unseen to the test by having four different staff members, including myself, try it out. The results? Beautiful, streak-free skin. Even with our varying our skin tones, the cream blended seamlessly on everyone. What's more, the foundation I had on before applying the sunscreen stayed in place. And it might have just been me, but Unseen also gave my skin a bit of glow, which multiple people around the office complimented me on.

While clear sunscreen isn't a new idea (see: Glossier's Invisible Shield), this one, in particular, is a great option if you're looking for a formula that's mattifying and can be worn seamlessly under and over your makeup. That being said, now there's virtually no excuse to skimp out on sun protection. Just remember to reapply it every couple of hours for maximum efficiency.
